Great Build Stories >> We often seem to lose sight that this is a hobby done for our enjoyment. We build for shows, commission, or other reasons that make us forget to be HAPPY. For this month, post something that gave you a personal sense of accomplishment, or brought a significant amount of joy. There is no limit to the number of submissions or really any other rules.
May Day >> Show a model in distress. This can cover automotive, aircraft, figures, whatever. Show us something damaged, on fire, or otherwise needing some serious help. As an aside, include any vehicles that would be used to help fix the distressed vehicle.
Amphibious Assault! >> There are few iconic moments in modern history that can approach the drama of Normandy. Among modelers, many favorite subjects are pulled from this moment in history: swimming tanks, invasion stripes, massive naval bombardments, and the poor solder who was told to storm one of the most heavily defended beachheads in history.
For this month, post photographs of ANYTHING used in an amphibious assault. This could be as literal as say, a beach craft to the aircraft and warships used to beat defenses into submission. You may even model the defenders if you so choose.
American Innovation >> What's more American than innovation? For this month, post photos of models that represent the best of the best, in your opinion, that came from the States. Please include a short description and how it influenced its particular field. Civilian and military subjects both apply
Heroism >> September is a month that will forever resonate in the American psyche. Still, in dark times, people step forward, put themselves in danger, and do what needs to be done to help others. This month, let's honor those who gave of themselves to save the lives of others. Potential builds can be anything from a firefighter figure to a famous aircraft piloted by a well known ace. Use your imagination.
Trick Or Treat >> Qualifications: There are two opportunities to post your builds.
Trick: Camouflaged models are some of the most enjoyable to build. Post your best uses of disruptive or mimicking camouflage in your collection.
Treat: Got a real pretty drag car? Proud of that candy apple red? Maybe your F-15 has a giant Mt. Fuji decal that covers the fuselage and wings. The key word here is pretty.
Turning Point of The War >> November 1942 marked the turning point of Axis fortunes in World War II. In Africa, the Allied forces rout the Germans at the Second battle of El Alamein. Russian forced launch Operation Uranus, encircling Stalingrad and trapped an entire German army in the city. The Japanese thrust into the South Pacific is checked at Guadalcanal, where they lose several precious battleships and carriers.
For this month, display any models that represent this period in history. Sherman tanks, American battleships, and even merchant forces use to ferry troops during Operation Torch or really any of the other major theaters of the war.
